SOUTHERN PACIFIC STAGING
- This is the holding area and reverse
loop for Southern Pacific trains originating from or destined
to all points south (considered west on SP timetables) of Red
Bluff on the Shasta route, including Sacramento, Oakland, Donner
Pass, Tehachapi, Los Angeles, etc.
- The yard consists of a three track
hidden reverse-loop located underneath the Santa Fe's southern
approach to the Sacramanto River Bridge. All the tracks are 35ft
long and each can hold a 50-car train
- The yard is reached by continuing
along the Southern Pacific mainline south of Glade (Red Bluff)
