• This is the holding area for interchange traffic originating from or destined to the Sacramento Northern (Western Pacific) south of Chico
  
• The yard consists of 4 partially hidden stub-ended tracks adjacent to the lower level reverse loop underneath the Valley Staging yard. The tracks range from 10ft to 12ft and can store four 15-car trains
  
• The yard is reached by taking the Sacramento Northern track at Chico Wye Tower
  
• The Sacramento Northern has trackage rights into New Chico yard beginning at Chico Wye Tower
